These cocoons are produced by large, healthy, sleeve-raised Promethea caterpillars from Pennsylvania. Calosamia promethea is one of North America's most fascinating native silk moths, known for its striking sexual dimorphism, with males displaying dark, feathery wings and females showing beautiful reddish-brown and orange coloration.
All cocoons are fresh and have been carefully selected to ensure they are in healthy condition.
