Description
Eggs from captive-reared Actias selene will be available this week. Eggs will be $13/doz, buy 4 dozen get 1 free. Larvae came from 2 sources and they were reared on Liquidambar. Supposedly they accept other foods such as Salix, Prunus, Malus, Eucalyptus, and Pyracantha quite well. I attempted to rear some on Juglans but they languished on it. Late season larvae can probably be reared under short day lengths and resultant pupae chilled in a wine chiller for winter.
